bio
Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, I’m still not sure if I should say I’m Irish or British, so I respond to both. I’ve lived in Northern Ireland, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina and Maryland, and now Uganda as well. I thrive on travel and have been to Canada, Costa Rica, France, Ghana, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Mexico, Togo, Uganda, and most of the continental United States. On my wish list for Year1 in Uganda: Kenya again (check!), Rwanda (check!), and Tanzania (check!). For Year2: maybe Ethiopia, or South Sudan and definitely around Uganda. For the future: Turkey (check!), Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, India, and those last three States.
I like trying adventurous foods, hiking, style blogs, competitions, and documentaries. I keep a pretty diverse group of friends.
My professional background has been a hodge-podge of communications and media and I honestly do see each job as a learning experience. I love writing and editing; I’m getting my feet wet in graphic design; I’m trying to rekindle my photography skills. If you like, take a gander at my resume.
On this site, I blog about my travel and work experiences abroad and the ways they challenge me. Hopefully, it’s a little funny, a little factual, and a little insighful. I always look forward to feedback, new ideas, and encouragement, especially while out of the country. Here are some great ways to get in touch:
